It is a great honor for me, and for the Financial Regulatory Authority of Egypt, to welcome you to the 51st Annual Conference of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the FRA Public Conference, which will take place from 11 to 14 May 2026 in the beautiful city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
Set between the timeless Sinai Mountains and the serene waters of the Red Sea, Sharm El-Sheikh—long celebrated as the land of peace and a global hub for dialogue—offers far more than a venue. As a landmark where nations have convened to address humanity’s most pressing challenges and advance sustainability, it provides a fitting setting for our deliberations on the future of financial markets, where we will collectively confront the challenges and opportunities of our time.
During the first three days, the IOSCO Annual Meetings will bring together regulators, policymakers, and market leaders from around the world to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen international cooperation. This gathering will serve as a valuable platform to explore innovative approaches, address emerging challenges, and reaffirm our shared commitment to resilient, transparent, and inclusive markets.
Held under the theme “Financial Empowerment for Social Cohesion”, FRA Public Conference will convene senior policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and market participants to examine the role of inclusive financial systems in strengthening social cohesion and promoting sustainable economic development. The discussions will focus on advancing financial inclusion, enhancing consumer protection, and leveraging innovation to expand equitable access to financial services. The Conference will also provide a platform for sharing best practices and fostering collaboration to support resilient, inclusive, and well-functioning non-banking financial markets in Egypt and the wider region.
Hosting this prestigious event for the first time in Egypt marks an important milestone in our financial reform journey and reflects the recognition of Egypt’s growing role within the global regulatory community. It is also a unique opportunity to showcase Sharm El-Sheikh as the setting for high-level discussions on the future of global financial markets.
